Question search rrdtool library for linux

Hi to all !

I trying to install rrdtool 1.4.4 in my Linux CentOS 5.5 distribution, but it requests a perl platform for rrd:

[root@localhost rrdtool]# rpm -ivh rrdtool-1.4.4-1.el5.wrl.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
perl(RRDp) is needed by rrdtool-1.4.4-1.wrl.i386
perl(RRDs) is needed by rrdtool-1.4.4-1.wrl.i386

In other forums I found that I shall install this platform and I did that:

[root@localhost rrdtool]# rpm -ivh perl-rrdtool-1.4.4-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm
warning: perl-rrdtool-1.4.4-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 6b8d79e6
error: Failed dependencies:
librrd.so.4 is needed by perl-rrdtool-1.4.4-1.el5.rf.i386
rrdtool = 1.4.4 is needed by perl-rrdtool-1.4.4-1.el5.rf.i386

but how can you see, it requests librrd.so.4 library, but I can't find it.

Tell me anyone where can I find this library (librrd.so.4) ???

Pls help me !

a) Why don't you use yum ?

b) run the rpm command with both packages on the command line
Code:
rpm -ivh perl-rrdtool-1.4.4-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm rrdtool-1.4.4-1.el5.wrl.i386.rpm
As you can see here, the library you need is provided by rrdtool

And all this despite you saying "pls help me !"

Welcome to LQ.

# yum install rrdtool
( The rpmforge repo must be enabled : https://rpmrepo.org/RPMforge/Using )

If you have no internet connection :
http://packages.sw.be/rrdtool/
> rrdtool-1.4.3-2.el5.rf.i386.rpm
> perl-rrdtool-1.4.3-3.el5.rf.i386.rpm
( Or perl-rrdtool-1.4.3-2.el5.rf.i386.rpm )
..

rrdtool problem solved

Thank you, knudfl !
The problem is solved now.
You know I've tried the yum tool to install the rrdtool before this thread, but it were errors. Now it is good.
