Samba shared printer doesn't allow multiple copies

I have an HP Deskjet 712C (using the HP-DeskJet_712C-pnm2ppa.ppd driver) shared via samba on my Debian Etch box. From Debian, I can printer multiple copies of a document. When my wife prints from the Windows XP box, only one copy is printed regardless of how many copies are entered. The printer used to be hooked up to the XP box and could print multiple copies when installed that way.

Here are the relevant sections of Samba
Code:
#this section is only to share the printer
printcap name = cups
disable spoolss = Yes
show add printer wizard = No
printing = cups

[printers]
comment = HP Deskjet 712C
path = /var/spool/samba
guest ok = Yes
printable = Yes
use client driver = Yes
browseable = No
Can anyone give me a hint how to resolve this? I've done some googling, but the results usually say "the driver doesn't support that feature", which isn't the case here since I can do it from linux.

I suggest that you setup a second raw printer queue and connect the XP box to that. Then the XP box will use its local printer driver, that previously worked.
I also suggest that you comment out the:
Quote:
disable spoolss = Yes
and
Quote:
use client driver = Yes
in smb.conf.

Thanks, I'll give it a try when I get the chance. It's not real high on my priority list since the XP box is turned off most of the time. The printer has been hooked up this way for a couple of months and my wife just booted into XP for Hallmark Card Studio. =)
