Samba PDC : can't add XPclient to domain

I have a ClarkConnect-server installed with the role of Samba PDC.

LDAP settings : dc=jocan,dc=local
so the domain is jocan.local.

When I want to add my XP-client to the domain (My Computer > System > Computer Name > Change) jocan.local I get the notice that there is no domain controller found in the domain jocan.local.

I can access a share on the ClarkConnect
start > run > \\clarkconnect\music
works fine.

I am also able to ping the ClarkConnect-server :

So the server is reachable and DNS resolution works...

Do you have a DNS server on the network? If not you'll have to run it on the samba machine, add the samba ip address as your primary dns and add it under the wins tab under your nic's advanced tab.

I had the same issue last week.
