Samba local network problem

So I have a samba server up and running, and I also have a dyndns name for it. When I type in

in the 'Run' prompt from windows at home, on my local router, it works just fine like its supposed to. But when I try to access it from anywhere else I get an error message that its not found. I have all the ports forwarded on my router, what other settings would I need to look at/change.

Generally speaking, SMB is not suitable for use over the internet. It does not route well and many ISPs block the service. I would suggest using a VPN or SSH tunnel to connect through SMB.

Do you have a Router? If so you may need to open the correct port: I found the following Samba/Firewall link. Looks like you need a few ports open.

Also try the Samba How To Page
