rsync output for a report

Hi all,

I hope this is the right forum for this.
I want to run an rsync script weekly, cron, and send its output in an email.

Basic stuff really, but the problem I have is the output from rsync. It doesn't seem to make any sense.

eg

Code:

david.ward@om012234 ~/dev/test $
rsync -avh * ../test-dst/
building file list ... done
A
B
C
E
X

sent 349 bytes  received 130 bytes  958.00 bytes/sec
total size is 11  speedup is 0.02

david.ward@om012234 ~/dev/test $
rsync -avh * ../test-dst/
building file list ... done

sent 124 bytes  received 20 bytes  288.00 bytes/sec
total size is 11  speedup is 0.08

david.ward@om012234 ~/dev/test $
rm ../test-dst/*

david.ward@om012234 ~/dev/test $
rsync -lvHhr  --delete-after  * ../test-dst/
building file list ... done
C
E
X
A => E
B => X

sent 261 bytes  received 102 bytes  726.00 bytes/sec
total size is 11  speedup is 0.03

david.ward@om012234 ~/dev/test $
rsync -lvHhr  --delete-after --exclude=iso --exclude=tmp  * ../test-dst/
building file list ... done

These are all successive commands, nothing has been left out....

It seems its output doesn't make sense. Should be just the files transferred, changed, but it doesn't do that consistently.

This is not a network file system and this is not a VM.
