Unhappy rsync between differenr versions of linux

Dear All
I am a newbie and I have one issue at my desk. I have one old webserver running apche and redhat 7. I want to create a backup of the webserver onto another machine having a different hardware architecture (like sata drive). The redhat 7 doesnot support this hardware so i have to install the latest unbreakable oracle linux. Can anyone please guide me how to rsync between these two different versions.
Thanks in advance
Regards

Well there is nothing interesting about having different versions. The standard rsync documentation will tell you everything you need to know. Are there some finer points that you've not detailed here? You wouldn't back up an *entire* server with rsync.

It's a good idea to have the same version of rsync installed on both ends of the connection. There's probably a very old version on the Red Hat 7 machine. You can get a more recent version for it here: http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/rsync/. Aim to match as close as possible the version on the new machine.
