RHEL Domain ( active directory)


Hi guys,
i want to do the RHEL domain. i have windows 8 client as well as fedora based client. which domain can i create? is it Samba PDC with LDAP backend? how can i set user and machine policies in this? also which policies can i set?

I don't fully understand your question.

Do you want to make your RHEL server an Active Directory domain controller? I'm not sure this can be done, though a Google search suggests there are Linux replacements for Active Directory.

Or do you already have Active Directory set up and you want to add some Fedora desktop systems to the existing domain?

You can go with samba4 and ldap combination .

can i set the group policies in samba4 and ldap combination as like we do in windows AD?

You can't set policy exactly in same way , but yes policy can be set .
