RHEL 5.2+LDAP Server+File already exists while creating directory in /home
hi
I am using RHEL 5.2 for LDAP server. all entries of users, groups and autofs are in central database. when I create user's home directory, I received message File already exists. Please help.... |
How did you create the user's home directory? I suppose you have verified that it doesn't currently exist. Also keep in mind if you're using a shared network mount for home folders it may be some delay after creating the directory on 1 system and seeing it on another due to caching (depends on your specific configuration).

thanks....
I created directory using "mkdir /home/testuser" on LDAP server machine. /home is exported. nfs and autofs services are running. For mounting and sharing of /home, entries are in LDAP cerntral database. I am able to creat directories other than /home. After having message "File already exitsts, there is a directory but with no size and having permissions 555" and I am able to cd to this directory (testuser). But when I use ls command, there is message "no such a file or diectory" any help |
