Relaying mails through auth-SMTP server ?
Hello,
I am using Sendmail on Fedora 9. I have a static IP. But whatever mails I send locally, go into SPAM box... My friend suggested me to relay mails via Gmail or any other trusted SMTP server (My ISP ? ). both smtp server; gmail as well as my ISP's require AUTH. How do I configure sendmail to authenticate with smtp.gmail.com OR with my ISP ? Plz, I will move to postfix if its only the solution for this AUTH-RELAY.

I don't use sendmail, but I believe you need to set the "smarthost" See what you can find on that

I did that; but I don't know how to set it up for Authenticating with SMTP server. What do you use ? posfix ? I can migrate to postfix if that's the solution.
