Reg : developing scripts for linux server
 

Hi folks ,

I am planning to develop an application through which i can generate a detailed information regarding LINUX SERVER using "Perl SCripts" . can u please tell me what all do i need to develop one with a good front end .

reports include ,userinfo,printers status,pkg level .. and all of them..infact as many of them as possible . i am thinking to develop using perl/tk or perl/cgi .kindly suggest me as i am a newbie

Ya i am aware of webmin , but i plan to develop something like this...what software tools and utilities are required for it

AFAIK, it's all perl, download the source and take a look at it. I personally don't use it so couldn't tell you much more than that. But if I were trying to create something like you're talking about, I'd certainly look into this first - if for nothing else than to see how they did it.
