red5 installation problem

I tried to configure the red5 in a vps. downloaded and install the latest jdk and ant
yum install subversion
svn co http://red5.googlecode.com/svn/java/server/trunk red5-trunk

and the ant prepare build was successful. but when i try ant dist i am getting this error.

BUILD FAILED
/root/red5-trunk/build.xml:230: The following error occurred while executing this line:
/root/red5-trunk/build.xml:251: Error running /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_21/bin/javac compiler

and also at the top there was a message saying

Buildfile: /root/red5-trunk/build.xml
[property] java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "/bin/env": java.io.IOException: error=12, Cannot allocate memory

this is my free -m output
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 373 53 319 0 0 0
-/+ buffers/cache: 53 319
Swap: 0 0 0

how to fix the error?? is this related to any java version conflict?? there was a default java openjdk was in my system[/usr/lib],but i set the java home to /usr/java/jdk-version..

thanks in advance

See this thread:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...os-5-a-717592/

Also, you say you purposely moved the Java from the default, to something else, and you're surprised it's not working??

the svn daily build -- very unstable
and you but in in a folder called "red5-trunk"
Quote:

/root/red5-trunk
AND you are building it in the root home folder ?? -- not good
i take it you are logged in to the gui ( gnome ) as root ? also not good

you DO know that the java that ships in the NOT FREE rhel 5.5 is very stable ?

next ?
Did you BUY RHEL ?? -- It is NOT FREE

to fix :
step #1
pay for red hat enterprise linux ( RHEL 5.5 ) then
use the paid for support .

or install the FREE CentOS 5.5

I am having the same problem, facing the same error but instead while running "ant prepare"
Code:

[property] java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "/bin/env": java.io.IOException: error=12, Cannot allocate memory
I am sure the OP would have missed this result to see because after running "ant prepare" the console prints last jobs of "Making directories" successfully and prints a message [BUILD SUCCESSFUL], which is actually not a good one to track down the correct problem. If you scroll up the console, you would see the list of errors/exceptions and the very first error is the same as I quoted above.

I would request you to follow an another thread of mine for detail of the error and some findings. You can click the [>] icon next to the quote title below.

And per LQ rules, we would request you don't post the same question in multiple locations, re-open old threads, and hijack someone elses thread with your question.

^ Please accept my apology, if it was really like that. But I didn't mean to do any of the acts which it could be looked like. I just tried to search the issue first as normally it's used to be the rule that don't post multiple threads and I found this topic unsolved, and I just had have the same problem but with some other aspects as well, which lead me to post a new thread other wise I was going to post the whole post in this thread. I just redirected to the other thread with the same but extend issue detail..

I am really sorry if I did it wrong way... But I sincerely tried not to break any rule... I again wrote a long text in my clarification but I didn't try any thing to disturb the forums.. Please consider my apologies...

Thank you...
