I recommend going with another option. PPTP is a microsoft protocol that even they consider insecure.
OpenVPN with roadwarrior options should serve you better, in a secure fashion, and is easily deployed to multiple desktops and operating systems. Note: I am NOT an OpenVPN expert.
My personal case leveraged an Astaro Secure Gateway (now from Sophos) that handled 6 site-to-site and several hundred Road Warrior VPN users with no noticable load issues. The annual renewal fee was worth it for the business, but that would be a business call. A vendor can help you estimate the options and costs.
Whatever you choose, make sure that you select something (either commercial, FOSS, or home brew) that can be managed using a secure WebMin interface. You do not want to add a learning and refreshment/retraining cost to your budget ala Cisco! Execllent engineering trumps continual retraining.
