Question Real Time Monitor for proxy server

What information system administrators usually look regarding proxy in the real time? I think CPU usage, memory usage is obligatory, but what else?

If you running squid (or any other proxy server) and use some scripts or 3rd party programs to get some information in the real time, what information you find most useful?

I would really appreciate if you advise me what tools you use for analyzing how proxy works.
