I have partition on a disk:
/dev/sda9 783G 328G 415G 45% /share
And on this partition I have two folders:
[root@lt2fs1 share]# ls -l
drwsrws--- 47 root ctia 4096 Dec 9 13:15 ctia
drwsrws--- 3 root lab 4096 Dec 12 11:02 lab
drwx------ 2 root root 16384 Aug 20 09:20 lost+found
My question is I am scared users will fill up all available space on lab folder - rendering the entire partitioned disk 'full'. Can I set a quota on the 'lab' folder to 100 GB and after that folder has exceeded 100 GB, it is no longer writable?
As you can see the 'lab' directory is owned by the lab group so perhaps I could do something with group quotas but I have no idea. This is my 1st time ever dealing with quotas.
Thanks for any help!
