PXE Boot


Hi ! Everyone ,
This is rahul.Anybody can tell me How can I make PXE Boot Server by RHEL 5 & Fedora Core 8 ?
give me good web link & process.

If I remember, what you will be covered at the linux terminal server project (LTSP).

You may want to look at something like RedHat's Spacewalk. Though RedHat is positioning it as a functional workalike to Microsoft's SMS/SCM but for Redhat and Redhat-based platforms, Spacewalk includes integrated Kickstart support for RHEL and Fedora.

If you want to understand the nuts and bolts of what it actually takes to run a PXE boot/Kickstart server, this presentation covers it pretty well.

Once you have an understanding of how to setup the basic PXE boot environment using TFTP and DHCP and a network booting tool like pxelinux then you just need to generate your own Kickstart files. RHEL documentation has a complete Kickstart reference.
