Proftpd, MYSQL and websites

Hi all,

I have set up Proftpd to use virtual users hosting in a mysql database.

This side of thing works fine now, users can upload files and delete files fine.

The problem I have is that the files that have been uploaded cant be accessed from the internet(I want to be able to upload a website using FTP and then the site to work straight away)

Any ideas what I need to do to resolve this issue?

Thanks

No, since you're not providing any details about your current setup, what the pages are written in, or give us anything to go on.

Short answer: If the files are there, write your web-page(s) to either pull up a virtual directory listing, or do a meta-refresh on the page(s) at set intervals, so they refresh with new content.

I prolly havent made much sense.

I think the issue is down to permissions. I followed this guide(http://www.howtoforge.org/virtual-ho...l-debian-lenny)

ls -l on the folder shows:

drwx------ 2 ftpuser ftpgroup 4096 2009-11-14 15:54 htdocs

and ls -l on the files in the directory are as follows :

-rw-r--r-- 1 ftpuser ftpgroup 100944 2009-11-14 15:43 51230.JPG
-rw-r--r-- 1 ftpuser ftpgroup 7 2009-11-14 16:50 index.html

When I try and access the files from the internet I get this error in ff

Forbidden
