hi all,

I encountered a Linux Server Problem yesterday evening. I installed smokeping monitoring software on top of RHEL 5.4. Suddenly my server get stuck and I couldnt log to the server using SSH. This particular server runs for several months. But I can ping it. Then I rebooted the server manually. My apllication didnt work during this period. Now I want to figure out what cause this problem.
I check the /var/log/messages and nothing I can found. Free Disk and RAM available.
Please help me in order to diagonise this problem.

Thanks

So, what does smokeping logs say?
Note that if the disk filled up with a file that was still open when you re-booted, that file would disappear and you'd get file-space back and no evidence except possibly in one of the log files...
