Problem making a directory share on Linux server
Hi
I have set up a home network on a computer with OpenSuse 12.1 installed using the Swerdna tutorials.
When I try and set the DirectoryA to share in Dolphin or Konqueror by right clicking onto Properties then Share it initially shows a share (and the directory icon changes to a shared directory icon), but almost immediately afterwards it goes back to the original non share version.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be? Why can't I make this directory a share?
My smb.conf file looks like this -
# smb.conf is the main Samba configuration file. You find a full commented
# version at /usr/share/doc/packages/samba/examples/smb.conf.SUSE if the
# samba-doc package is installed.

When I looked at usershares this is the result (which is strange because ONLY wellyboot works - is accessible on the other computers on the network - also I dont understand why I have 2 welly and wellyboot which both access DirectoryW but only wellyboot works? (The others are visible but have read only access, and I haven't been able to change that )
dhcppc5:/home/Buser # ls -l /var/lib/samba/usershares
total 16
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 105 Mar 27 17:59 directorya
-rw-r--r-- 1 guser users 115 Mar 27 23:02 welly
-rw-r--r-- 1 buser users 213 Mar 28 00:13 wellboot
Any ideas?
