Catalyst, that fixes the problem temporarily. I have fixed the issue previously using your solution and I kept finding that the problem would come back after a few days/weeks etc.

The problem is that the cron file is recreated each time you restart APF. To stop that happening:
- Edit /etc/apf/internals/functions.apf
- Find the function cron_refresh()
- Delete the lines that you mentioned (MAILTO and SHELL)

You should now see a clean cron file when restarting APF.
