problem for ftp login remotely

hi friends,
i have installed Redhat Centos on my server.now i have created few users on the server.i have configured vsftpd service on my server and restarted the service.but when i am trying to connect to my server using ftp from any remote machine, i am unable to get login with messege "unable to connect".
when i have configured ftp on the other test machine similarly i can easily get ftp login from other machines to the test machine.
will you please help me to solve this problem?

You should compare the two vsftpd configs between the two machines for clues. If they are identical then your problem obviously lies elsewhere. If they are not the same, you could swap the working set from the test machine to the intended server and see if that works. Make sure you back up the original configs first, though!

Are you running a firewall of any sort? I have had misconfigured firewalls screw me up more times than I can count. You could check this by shutting off any firewalling you are doing on the server and seeing if you can then connect. I had to do this just yesterday... I was sure I'd configured the server correctly, and it turned out I had.

Can't help with any vsftpd-specific questions, I use proftp.
