Printer queue issue


Hi

In one of the linux box daily basis i getting issue to clear the queue in dialy basis, i want to how to solve it?

currently what id od is find the prinetr which has enteries not equal to 0 and run the cmd

lpc status "printername"
printername:
printer is on device 'lpd' speed -1
queuing is enabled
printing is enabled
1 entries
daemon present


cancel -a "printername"

Pls help me fixing this issue permanent.

What distribution and version of Linux are you using?

What is the manufacturer and model of the printer?

It sounds like the printer is directly connected to the same machine that sends the print job. Is that correct?

Does the print queue hang at the same time every day or with a print job from the same source every day?
