The other day I noticed that MySQL has stopped listening on 'localhost'. The only way that I can access the database is to address the physical IP. I cannot even connect from outside to the WAN address, (port forwarded in modem) which I have been able to do for ever.
I also have installed ProstgreSQL recently, and haven't been able to connect to it at all.
There's not enough information in your message to attempt to give you an answer. It sounds like a possible hardware failure, but it could also be a changed configuration setting in the machine. Some more information would be really helpful.
I only installed PostgreSQL to be able to install TinyERP. I have installed the TinyERP server software, and have the client installed on both an XP client and the server it's self.
I installed using YUM and it installed all dependencies, including PostgreSQL.
Up to this point, I had been using MySQL for all my database needs.
MySQL has also started working again magically. I have no idea what has happened there at all.
