If your ISP won't support relaying, then pick a mail client under Linux, and configure it with your user ID/password. Send all the mails you want.

i will explain the scenario, i setup a local mail server in our office. all the outgoing mails should be from the local mail server through only.

in the client system (outlook) in smtp server i put the local ip address of the postfix server. if chk test a/c in outlook it is telling messege sent sucessfully.

but in the postfix server it is telling the authentication error. i hope this much information is enough

Hello,

It's only normal that Outlook would report messages as sent if you configured your local smtp server correctly. Problem is that your mails are stuck in postfix and don't get relayed to the ISP's smtp host. Check what type of authentication is used (check the config on the smtp you are using under Windows) and configure Postfix the same.

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi Eric,

Now i can send the mails only on our own domain eg: hari@abc.com, i can't send mails to other domains like yahoo.com,gmail.com,hotmail.com etc...

error

553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1) (in reply =to RCPT TO command)

hari
