postfix for forwarding and sending via gmail
I use postfix on my server only to forward emails to my gmail account.
Former, it was possible to add my sender address in gmail when only I was the receiver of a test-mail. So I could use gmail to send emails with my address me@mydomain.com. Today gmail wants a password for smtp. Because I have my own server, I could install and configure everything, when I only knew what and how. Google wants a) smtp-server address (like smtp.mydomain.com) and b) password. Because I have installed no password on the postfix-server, I don't know what to add there. In other words: How can I install a user who has a smtp-password? Has anyone configured postfix with a user and smtp-password? Or do I need another software as well? |
Why oh why has gmail changed this??? That's very annoying. Anyway, if you follow the instructions on this link, gmail will allow you to send as me@mydomain.com.
http://ellisbenus.com/web-design-col...ail-addresses/ That way you don't have to reconfigure your postfix. |
