postfix for forwarding and sending via gmail

I use postfix on my server only to forward emails to my gmail account.

Former, it was possible to add my sender address in gmail when only I was the receiver of a test-mail. So I could use gmail to send emails with my address me@mydomain.com.

Today gmail wants a password for smtp.
Because I have my own server, I could install and configure everything, when I only knew what and how.

Google wants a) smtp-server address (like smtp.mydomain.com) and b) password.

Because I have installed no password on the postfix-server, I don't know what to add there. In other words: How can I install a user who has a smtp-password?

Has anyone configured postfix with a user and smtp-password? Or do I need another software as well?

Why oh why has gmail changed this??? That's very annoying. Anyway, if you follow the instructions on this link, gmail will allow you to send as me@mydomain.com.

That way you don't have to reconfigure your postfix.
