Postfix/Dovecot Mail Server Redundancy
Hi Guys,
I'm running postfix mail server with dovecot under RHEL5.2 and now I want to configure the redundancy server for my mail server. I'm planning to use Redhat cluster as clustering software and FC SAN for shared storage. And I know that i need to put the user mailboxes and their home directories plus mail queue directory in shared storage. Now I need some clarification on: 1. Is only user directories and mail queue dir are the things should be in shared storage or anything else is there 2. Any Best Practices are defined for doing postfix mail server clustering? 3. And any other things i should consider before starting or any dependencies over there on doing like this? 4. For dovecot any thing dependencies are there? and i'm using maildir format for user mailboxes. Please help to achieve this. Thanks a lot... |

Hi Dude,
Thanks for your response.... My organization holding around 3000 users. And tell me is only two mail servers that is with Active-passive clustering is enough to manage this much users??? Or any other option to have active-active mailbox servers for the same domain. If so, can u tell me how we can achieve that and dependencies over there??? For AV we are using trend micro IMSS. Dovecot will use ldap auth. Thanks a lot... |
