autoresponders are implemented at the level of the MDA. If you use local accounts, vacation is an option.

I use vacation with postfix and have setup usermin internally so the users can enable and disable their autoresponder as well as edit the message it sends.

Google is your friend..

http://sourceforge.net/projects/vacation/

http://www.squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=187

http://www.opensourcehowto.org/how-t...uto-reply.html

http://linox.be/index.php/2005/07/13/44/

No clue how your postfix server is configured.. but this should give you a start.

I know that the thread is old and the author has already solved own problem,...

but I would like to mention an application that implements an auto-reply functionality. Maybe someone in the future may help. The application works as the Postfix and Sendmail plugin that allows to create auto responses on the basis of defined criteria.

Program website: http://www.mshsoftware.com?p=msh-free-autoresponder
