Postfix and Maildir help

I am having some trouble with maildir in my postfix config. I was able to successfully put up the email server with the maildir directive but the users aren't able to receive their mail. I get no errors when mail passes through and I can see the mail queued up in each users maildir. Has anyone seen this problem before?

Thanks.

I don't really follow what you mean. When you say "queued up in their Maildir", do you mean that the mail files are in ~/Maildir/cur?

How are users trying to read their mail?

Etc., etc.

Well, right now I'm still in the testing phase and am using just the built in Mail application. The mail is queued up in userhome/Maildir/new

That is not mail that is queued up, it's been delivered to the users mailbox...

So how are the users attempting to retrieve their email ? POP3, IMAP, webmail ?

What are you using to provide those POP3 or IMAP services ? Dovecot, Courier-Imap, Cyrus Imap, other ?

Postfix on it's own does not provide a method for the User Agent (thunderbird, evolution, outlook, etc.. ) to connect and retrieve mail.

That's what I thought may have been the case. I don't think "mail" reads maildir format from a quick look at the man page and a quick trial on my own account.

Try setting up dovecot or similar. Should work pretty much out of the box (you probably won't need to change any configuration) and it gives you the choice of using pop or imap from you mail clients

Guys, I feel like a complete idiot! I totally forgot to enable my POP server... Thanks anyway.
