Question postfix, amavis relay filtering


Hello,

I set up a box with the following tutorial -> http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual_po..._quota_courier

When I configure some relay domains, it seems the tagged SPAM messages are forwarded without a tagged subject and without spam header information.

What do I have to do to have relay mails also filtered? I'm using the standard configuration for amavis and postfix you can find in the tutorial.

How did you setup amavis in master.cf and main.cf? In main.cf it should have a line like the one below.

Are you using amavisd-new? I can't access the site it seems I'm not authorized. If so kindly post your master.cf.

Then the best way of doing amavisd-new is just to read the top-level INSTALL file included with the tarball. It is hard getting lost during installation by closely following it.

Install as well ClamAV and enable it in /etc/amavisd.conf.

I read all the manuals, but I don't understand why all the mails are filtered, but those who have to be relayed aren't tagged if they are spam.

This portion of master.cf for amavisd-new was taken exactly from ~/amavisd-2.4.x/README_FILES/README.postfix file. Use this to compare your settings or simply use this as is.

Reference all the above from your /etc/hosts and /etc/hostname or HOSTNAME.

The user and group should be existing in your system without login shell. Then use this same username and group for ClamAV to allow it to write to amavis quarantine directory.

ClamAV's virus signatures database shall be as well owned by amavis. All the directories in /var/amavis shall be created manually and applied with their respective permissions and ownerships.

You can simply download the latest tarball and unpack and simply copy amavisd.conf in /etc/ and amavisd in /usr/local/sbin and have it owned by root and with 755 permission. Then start editing /etc/amavisd.conf accordingly.

Then run amavisd in debug mode but make sure clamd is already running.

# /usr/local/sbin/amavisd -u amavis debug

Watch out for the output while on the other console you are running 'tail -f /var/log/maillog or mail.log' to find out if there are missing perl modules and if your anti-spam and anti-virus supports are seen and loaded.

If all things went just fine, start the daemon normally.

I figured it finally out.

The @local_domains_acl has to contain all the domains for filtering, also the relay ones. I don't understand why he filtered the local domains with -> @local_domains_acl = ( ".$mydomain" );

Isn't there a way to import settings from postfix?

Our server here is only hosting two domains but I don't have such kind of problem. I have also installed an anti-spam relaying gateway for exchange server with only one domain and as well has no issue. Our server still uses amavisd-new 2.4.3 and that one is already upgraded to 2.4.4.
