I have got a requirement from a customer. He wants to have a CentOS 5.2 32 Bit server upgraded to CentOS 5.2 64 Bit (underlying hardware is 64 bit).

I told him this is a risky business (and may not even be possible), but he is ready to take "the" risk.

I did some google-ing and found that very few people have found success (though success level varies).

I am not aware what kind of data is stored on the server and what applications it hosts.

Please suggest me if there is a possibility to do so and how. Any links/suggestions will help me out.

It will require a backup and full reinstall, for sure.
