permanent mounting usb external hard disk in server to store data in it.

i need to permanent mount 1tb hdd in server.i tested in my linux pc.
actually whenever i mount usb hdd it get automount in /media/disk-1
and if i didnot use for some time it get deactivate and data saved in hdd get invisible . so in that case whenever i need to get data again i need to restart pc.
again it get automount in /media/disk-1 and i get the data.and if i continue work on hard disk it remain active as i left it for some time it again get deactivate....

my requirement is to take backup of server data in usb external 1 tb hdd. which is remain mounted in server permanently and data always get stored in it....

i added in /etc/fstab and left it for testing.did thier is any another way to permanent mount external hdd....

we use external hdd in the same condition -- for data backup, and i got the same error message.
The difference is that i used a HDD Box to hold my raided hard disks.

I solved the problem this way:
Set the hibernate/sleep time of HDD Box to 0, ie, to disable hibernation.

I got a tool from the HDD Box Provider, and configure the HDD Box under Windoze.

Hope it helps.
