PDNS TCP problems

Nov 27 11:41:46 firewall pdns[9616]: TCP server is without backend connections, launching
My pdns logs are full of the above error messages. And I find myself having to restart pdns in order for anyone to be able to access the internet again. Any ideas? I've googled all round but got no useful info on this.

Looks to me like the backend isn't answering fast enough but then again I ain't using PDNS. Maybe the PowerDNS mailing list (archives) could show more info?..
