PC - PC call through asterisk

I am trying to make a call between i386 PC's through asterisk server.
I installed asterisk-1.4.0-beta3 version in a linux-i386 system.when i try to make a call between 2 linphones-1.2 version i am getting message in astersik like this

[NOv 6 19:07:08] WARNING[29430]: chan_sip.c:8112 regisrty_verify:Failed to parse contact info

[NOv 6 19:07:08] WARNING[29430]: chan_sip.c:8655 check_via: '[' is not a valid host


can any one give a correct option to make a call and hear voice between 2 linphones through asterisk

and what is the stable asterisk version.
