hi again
thanks for your advice. but my company let me install kernel-PAE offline. how can i do that? |
you can get the rpm package for kernel-PAE from the source dvd. Copy it to your local machine and install using rpm. Make sure you install all the required dependencies.
Once you are done with install make sure you follow the procedure as shown here before removing the previous kernel version Installing kernel manually |
thanks deep27ak
but i thind doesnt need to unistall earlier kernel version. we can change load kernel priority in grub.conf. |
yes un-installation is not required but I wanted to inform in case you wanted to so.

I'm going to reiterate the previous statement that you probably should go to your manager and get his or her explicit approval for exactly what you are doing (with the company's computer ...) and why you are doing it. In my experience, companies almost never knowingly let people do what you're saying they will "let you" do, for what really are very sound and justifiable reasons. I also don't believe you .. frankly .. when you say that they're willing to let you do it versus one of their own staff. (I say this politely but firmly, with my eyebrows arched skeptically and with a note of real warning in my voice.) If this is not something that you are clearly doing on your own time, with your own computer, and well away from your company's networks, etc., then: cover your  !

dear sundisalsvcs
thanks for your advice. but take it easy because this was a test for installation of 32bit OS for a server with around 30GB RAM. i have to install 32bit because it depends on a 32bit application. |
Actually, RHEL/Centos 64 bit OS will run 64 bit AND 32 bit apps. It uses the multi-lib architecture.
