Oracle 10g R2 Installation Problem

I have RHEL AS 4.0 Update 5 running on Itanium-based HP rx7640. Even after performing all 10g pre-installation tasks, when I try to runInstaller I get the follwoing message from the JVM:- # An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine: # # SIGILL (0x4) at pc=0x2000000003aa4070, pid=24248, tid=2305843009214273824 # # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (1.4.2_10-b03 mixed mode) # Problematic frame: # Segmentation fault I checked on the java that comes with the OS. The output of 'java -version' command is given below:- java version "1.4.2" gcj (GCC) 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-8) Copyright (C) 2006 Free Software Foundation, Inc. This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. There is no way I am able to start the OUI and proceed. Pls. help Thanks & Regards |
