Odd DNS Issue, can not resolve one domain name

We have 2 networks at my office. One is provided by a vendor and the other is our network.

On our network we are unable to resolve www.red-gate.com. I can resolve the name from any other network including the vendors network, my home network, and online dig tools.

We are able to resolve any other domain name, google.com, yahoo.com, cnn.com, linuxquestions.org, etc...

For the life of my I can not figure out why. Can anyone suggest anything I might look at?

I tried updating root hints.

Have you tried staying on your network but switching to other DNS servers, such as OpenDNS or Google DNS?

Also, maybe watch this other thread; that person seems to be having a similar problem.

Hi vonedaddy, your DNS settings on your network is pointing to what IP Address?

Try manually setting up the DNS on your network and type this DNS IP Addresses: 4.2.2.2 and 8.8.8.8

check if it will work or not :)

Good luck!

We have our own caching servers, and our policy prohibits us from using google, or any other outside DNS servers.

Have you setup forward zone on your DNS?
