Question ocsinventory 502 error

[success]I'm a linux newbie... but seems to be quite abit of us lately!

i've setup a fedora 6 lamp server...

I setup OCS Inventory and was able to access OCS's web interface from a client system..

I then setup OCS's Windows Agent on one machine. The Windows Agent is suppose to automatically send client computer information to the server but it doesn't.

I did some work to get an error log on the client side, this referred me to look at apache's error logs. This is what came up:

HTTP SERVER: Sending prolog query...ERROR: Http error: 502
Failed because Unknown exception !

After doing abit of reading, this seems to be a Gatway Error. I know I set the internal web server network settings to point to the internal gateway address along with a static internal ip address.

The client system that I've set the Windows Agent up with receives a dynamic internal ip address and contacts the internal gateway.

would anyone have an idea of what this 502 error could be from? or where I should look next?

Thanx.
Lhlalyam

Have you run OCS Inventory.exe from the command line on the Windows machine?? If not, try it using the debug switch then check the log it creates. You can also specify the ip of the admin machine via /server:<ipaddress>. At least then you will know that the client knows where the admin machine is so you can eliminate that variable.

Yup that worked! thank you... i found a little instruction where I created a folder called "download" and added the /server:ipaddress and lastly ran the ocsinventory.exe file... and everything worked for the test client machine sending inventory to the server machine... thanx for the tip!
