Notification of files added to FTP

Im looking for a way to get an e-mail notification anytime someone drops a file in my ftp server. Would tripwire be the best route to go or is there a better solution?

If you were running ftp out of xinetd instead of standalone, you could get xinetd to call a wrapper script that called ftp, then emailed you at the end.

Thanks for the post, but that doesnt help me at all. Im guessing tripwire is the route i need to go. That or parse log files every so often via cron.
