I've seen this error when trying to mount to a location that doesn't exist. Maybe try mounting to /mnt/cdrom? Please keep in mind I've never actually helped anyone on these boards. I'm very new to CentOS.

This means that the filesystem code in the kernel doesn't understand what is on the disk you attempt to mount. The DVD might not have the right format. /dev/cdrom might not be what you think, e.g. it might point to a different device or it could be a regular file.
Perhaps there is useful information in /var/log/messages.
Also, while I doubt this is relevant here, I believe you should mount the DVD not on /media, but /media/something.

i have add new cdrom and run # mount /dev/cdrom1 /media
after that i got cd mounted...
Kindly share with us what your original /dev/cdrom looks like.
This is not only for curiosity. Personally, it helps me to know of real-world use cases when I teach classes. Also, everybody benefits more if you tell us what your mistake was.
If you are trying on physical machine then you have to add extra cdrom or if you are trying on vmware then simply
Go to setting you will get new window and add cdrom otherwise power off vmware, reomove exixting cdrom and readd cdrom once again..
then run # mount /dev/cdrom /media OR # mount /dev/cdrom1 /media
you will get mount: block device /dev/cdrom write protected, mounting read only..
