No ext3 available when installing RH 4 on HP Blade

When installing RH 4 onto a HP BL480c, I select Disk Druid to create partitions manually, the File system type required is ext3 -- this is not listed!
The enclosure is a C7000 and the firmware is up to date
Any ideas?

What is the overall partitioning scheme you are using?
Are you uing LVM?
What fs types are available?

File system types

We are using custom partitions but they included the /, /boot etc.
The problem here is that we only get as far as Disk Druid and cannot add a new partition as we need to use ext3, this is not shown as an option for file system types.
The only options shown are:
Ext2
Physical Volume (LVM)
Swap
Vfat

It all works on a DL380 with sas drives - same array controller etc

If anything, it's a kernel issue... I mean the drive/controller just writes bytes when its told. The RH4 install CD/DVD has the same toolset it always had, so if you booted with a kernel without ext2 support that would be the only culprit I can think of.

No Ext3 available

the problem has been resolved - the version of Linux we have to use is 4.3 this does not support Quad processors - we are trying to move up to version 4.8
TYhanks for responses
