Question "No DNS records" error

hi guys,

i have a red hat 9 server with squid through which i sharing the internet connection in the lan. recently the Primary DNS of the internet provider changed, so i changed the DNS entry in /etc/named.conf and /etc/resolv.conf files, but since then sometimes on the client system which are running on xp while browsing i get the following error

Quote:
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.google.com

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for www.google.com
The dnsserver returned:

No DNS records
This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.
i have to restart the server to get away with the error and the error comes back again after some time.
i dont know why i am getting this error please help. thanks in advance.

There might be some problem with your ISP.

In order to make your DNS mobile or that doesn't need change everytime your ISP changes their DNS servers IP or even how often they do it, install a local caching server.

http://langfeldt.net/DNS-HOWTO/BIND-9/

That would as well make your clients DNS queries faster since plenty of information were already cached in your gateway.
