New Server setup

Can anyone give some input in to this for me. i have got a nice power PC/server..

P4 i5 Q4
16Gb Ram
3 x SSD 60Gb drives
2 x 1Gb NIC
etc etc

RasPberry PI x 3
Compac 733 desktops x 3
laptops x 4

10/100/1000 switch (8port)
10/100 switch x3 (8 port & 5 port & 4 port)
router (4port)

I am thinking of settup up a new LTSP server to run 3 Raspberry PI clients off of this server. But now with the cluod coming in im not sure if this is the right way to go.

i ) I would like File/print/scan from then network (Raspi,destktop,laptop)
ii) Video (skype) over the network (Raspi, destktop, laptop). but this is a 'like to have' more than a 'need to have'.
iii) RDC over the network (Raspi, destktop, laptop).
iv) internet (firefox for school work and facebook)
v) openoffice

What would be the best way forward for this Cloud or LTSP5 ????

Skype is proprietary, so nothing to serve.
RDC is lightweight and a client. Are you connecting to Windows boxes?
File/print/scan server, the pi device can serve easily.

You've got a nice server. It's ridiculously overpowered for a small network services. Use the pi devices to serve and keep your electricity bill down.

there might be a windows PC (windows XP sp3) in there somewhere but its only for updating our samsung phones too. so not needed to connet into this server or the webserver ive got also on this LAN.

As for the power running yes thats why i pick the SSD drives and the very low power PC for the servers, and the RasPIs for clients. Needed it to run as fast as poss for the kids. thats why i moved from 100mb to 1g network Lan speed. I have moved the Xbox, 360, Wii, TV, Blue ray player over to a small 10mb Lan strate out to the router. The webserver has now been replaced with a super low power platform (ubuntu 12.04, LAMP, SSH, GFTP , SSD 120Gb, 1.8Ghz 2core, 8Gb RAM).

I have got a RasPI running XBMC with a 1.5Tb USB2 disk with all my MP3/AVI/Pics on and that runs better than my full fat PC did. I will also be looking at running a Astrix server running on a RasPI and getting some IP phones and setting them up in the house to give that a go as well. That might need access to the file/print Server and MySQL server on the webserver too but that is for later.

So would you say that i should run with LTSP on that server out to the RasPI's, or should i look into some sort of Apps server setup ?

BTW thanks for the comments :-)
