Network printer disappears
I am new to Linux and I've got a printer issue that I can't resolve (SUSE 10.2). I took the option to create a network printer in Yast and I can walk through the wizard (I chose SMB printer but it appears to be a CUPS printer when I look at the available settings) it sees the printer and prints a test page that is garbage. When I close and save all the changes, I can go to OpenOffice (for example) and can select the printer and print to it and again, it prints out garbage.
When I go back to Yast and open up the "Printer Configuration" application, there are no printers listed there. However the printer I set up is still listed in Open Office.
What am I missing and how can I keep the printer from disappearing? The printer is a shared HP 4L printer on a Windows 98 machine.
Thanks
