I am in the proccess of booting a Fujitsu-Siemens Computers PRIMERGY RX220 as a diskless node for diagnostic purposes.
The MASTER SERVER, running gentoo Linux, has every single service running and properly configured for this (a DHCP server, an NFS server with proper exports, and a TFTP server), as it has been tested as MASTER for other diskless nodes, and I managed to get them booted succesfully from this machine. (I followed http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/diskless-howto.xml
for my succesfull diskless nodes).
The problem is very simple: the RX220 doesn't seem to try asking for a IP from the DHCP server. I DO select NETWORK BOOT from the boot menu (by pressing F12 as stated there). In fact, it confirms my selection with a nice "Network boot selected as primary boot device", but then it starts scanning IDE and starts normal HD boot.
The RX220 does, in fact, support network PXE booting, as stated in it's official datasheet.
Any ideas?? Thanks!!
