needs solution for this..?

Dear friends,

At my office, I want to have a Server to store the files from various windows client machines. I thought why not to give Linux a chance to save my money and learn it again. So what should I do to get this done, for sharing Printers and Files, I think Samba will be the best option.

Have a nice day
John

You don't specify if this is for work or home, if it's for work or you need advanced permissions then, to be brutally honest, you're better off with a Windows server as there is better integration with AD etc.

If it's for home then do some Google searches for things like "Linux Home NAS", there's quite a few cut down Linux distributions that will allow you to set up simple samba shares.

I would say for small/home office use, Samba will work just fine.
