need to share /etc/hosts
 

Dear all,

I need to share /etc/hosts file between 20 linux box's . I thing nis is the best option, Can someone tell me how to confgiure nis for this or whether there is any someother option?
Pls help me in this case

Hard to give you any more...you don't say what distribution you're using, what version, or anything about your environment.

You can also look at DNS. Or, you can create a simple SSH script with generated keys on the machines that automatically copy your main /etc/host to the other machines. Just execute the script whenever you make changes to your /etc/hosts file. Or you can hire an assistant to manually go to X computers and make the changes by hand (just kidding).
