Need of urgent help with website server


I have access to a server via putty running Red Hat 3.4.6-11 CentOS release 4.8 (Final). How do I install and view gui remotely?

Centos or redhat!
well you can use xwindow over SSH

You might also want to take a look at NoMachine NX.

In future, please don't use "urgent" in your posts. No one thread is more urgent than any other and this is a volunteer site, so people only answer questions when they're able to (as opposed to when people need answers).

I recently started testing NoMachineNX and it is a very slick solution, especially if trying to view from a Windows machine. However if you don't need a full GUI desktop, just specific X applications using X forwarding is another solution. If connecting from another Linux machine this is as easy as ssh -X somehost.domain.com.
