My old server died, so I built a new one. I was able to pull the mysql files from /var/lib/mysql so I still have all my data. After
a little bit of work I managed to access the data in phpmyadmin, but my php apps still can't connect to their databases.
First I moved all my data from /var/lib/mysql . Then I chmod'd, chgrp'd & chown'd everything as follows:

/var/lib/mysql# chmod -R 660 wordpress/
/var/lib/mysql# chown -R mysql wordpress/
/var/lib/mysql# chgrp -R mysql wordpress/

and here is the tail of my /var/lib/hostname.err file:

I've done this for several databases and all still give errors. Phpmyadmin can read the databases without problem though, and I've gone into the priveleges and granted the appropriate permissions for the correct user via phpmyadmin. If anyone could help me troubleshoot I would much appreciate it!
