My local dns is not resolving particularly one host name .

Hi Team,

I have configured dns server(Ubuntu 12.04) in network and added number of host A records.Everything is working fine except It is not resolving archive.ubuntu.com .Because of this,I am not able to install any application using apt-get install <apps name> .Once I remove my local dns entry , it is working fine .

Any help is highly helpful.

Thanks in advance .

Are you using DNS forwarders for anything that isn't local?

yes its secondary dns server in ec2 environment.

1.)10.0.1.133 (Local DNS server )
2.)10.0.0.2 (EC2 DNS server)

In every instance

#cat /etc/resolv.conf
10.0.1.133
10.0.0.2

Please suggest me for any modification.

You could always just drop the ip in your hosts file as an interim fix.
Isnt the syntax of resolv.conf supposed to be:
"nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx."?
Can you tail the log file on the dns server? mine logs errors to /var/log/messages.

Try 4.4.4.4 and 4.4.2.2 in your resolv.conf. Really you should setup DNS Forwarders in bind and have resolv.conf point to local DNS servers.
