OK, here is my scenerio. I have a couple of servers, one has (6) 36.4 Ultra3 SCSI disks, another has (4) 146.8 Ultra 320 SCSI disks, and the third one has (2) 300 GB SAS drives. All are running SUSE linux and are no longer needed. What I would like to do is take all three of these and using something like iSCSI share the disk space to have a large storage share. Would Openfiler or freeNAS do that? I know disks are cheap and I could increase the disk sizes or attach USB or etc, etc but these boxes are doing absolutely nothing and still have life with Linux.
Any suggestions on how I can accomplish create a large file store from multiple servers using their disks?
