Question MRTG newbie! Just needing a starting point....

OS: CentOS v5
MRTG: v2.0 (I think)
Background: I was given the MRTG box in our environment, and was asked to administer it. Woot. So, I get to learn Pearl, MRTG, Linux, and all the other bells and whistles that come with a new OS. So please, bear with me, as I'm very intimate with M$ but still trying to get a handle on *nix... =]

I've ran the cfgmaker and added a new switch (nothing special in the options), and thought that it ran without any issues. However, when I refresh the mrtg web page, the new switch isn't being propagated. So my first issue is... How do I get it to show up the polled results? =D

Again, please forgive my noobness. I can get you any information, just unsure where/what to put as of now. Thank you SOOO very much for reading, and even a bigger thank you for a reply!! LoL! *cheers*

Edit: What is MRTG you ask? I'm glad you did! http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/ Basically, a service that uses SNMP to poll network/services/servers/ect to get information on network statistics, and then graphically create charts and what not that then posts them to a webpage that users can look at and gawk at all your hard work keeping the network stable. =]

Also... I'd like to change the way that everything is displayed. Basically... On the left, it shows the switches as this: SW33 -or- SW2. I'd like to change them to the actual hostname or possibly IP address. Just have a few different switch 12's and with the small number that is already loaded, it is going to get rather confusing trying to figure out what is what. TIA again!!!
